Despite everything you’ve read, there is still a market for big, expensive lifestyle pickup trucks.

So GMC is tackling the Ford SVT Raptor/ Dodge Power Wagon market with its own kind of executive off-roader, the Sierra All Terrain Concept. Unlike the Raptor, it’s based on the Sierra 2500 HD. And keep in mind that at this point, it’s only a concept. In fact, just as the Ford Super Chief concept hinted about the look of the latest F-150, the Sierra All Terrain hints at the next 1500 Sierra, due in the ’13 model year. The concept features a 39-degree approach angle and 31 degree departure angle. Built on an ’11 Sierra 2500 crew cab body, with a 1500′s five-foot, eight-inch box, the concept has a stock Duramax turbodiesel, making 390 horsepower and 745 pound-feet, like the production engine. Transmission also is stock, the Allison six-speed automatic. Thanks to the non-stock box/body combo, the concept’s wheelbase is 149 inches, two inches shorter than a Sierra 2500 Crew Cab. Suspension features custom upper- and lower-control arms, and Fox supplied second rebound shocks front and rear. Tires are knobby 35-inch BFGs on 20-inch aluminum wheels.

With visual mediums advancing more by the day, it is truly a fantasy coming to life about what the possibilities have now come to. We had seen Samsung bring the world’s first curved OLED TV, Harrod’s marketing the Panasonic 152-inch TV, LG’s 55-inch OLED TV, or even the other Panasonic 103-inch plasma. To take art and electronics a level higher, Philips brings in the 2013 DesignLine HDTV, which will appear to be no more than square piece of glass than the heavy duty electronics it is supposed to be. It is now about viewership with general aesthetics to go with it.

The 2013 Philips DesignLine HDTV will be available in a total of 3 fitting options. There will be a mounting table, or the optional design to fit it as a part of a larger entertainment system. The 3rd and perhaps the most artistic options of mounting will be using the TV as a wall hanging against a suitable part of the room. This means that, even when the device is switched off, attention towards it will be obvious and in plenty. The physical advantage comes courtesy TP Vision, who has taken it to manufacture products for Philips for Russia, Brazil, and larger part of Europe, Argentina, Uruguay, Middle East, and even Asia Pacific.

Available in 2 screen sizes of 46 and 55-inch width, there will be a LCD display just behind the front glass sheet. To ensure high quality of viewing, the TV features a 1,400 Hz Perfect Motion Rate alongside the active 3D HD capabilities. There will be a dual-core processor which will help the engine of the Perfect pixel HD screen. One could even witness LED backlighting with micro-dimming and local contrast for all decorative reasons.

Since multiple feature device are the demand of the times, this TV will also be capable of connecting to the wi-fi connection of your home, and help you surf the net via a simple switch button on the remote control. Also, if there are videos or photos you would like to see on the screen, the Wi-fi Miracast, Philips MyRemote App, or SimpleShare applications will come to your aid.

Even thought the TV looks a bit unstable because of the absence of any rubber stops, the very touch of the floor, will convert this opaque black glass sheet into a transparent one. When it is off the ground hanging on the wall, it’s a very elegant piece of gradient black wall hanging, which comes to life on demand. However, it is not going to very easily available everywhere. The prices are still shrouded in mystery and only parts of Europe, including Russia will witness it, before it heads to other major markets.
