Ferrari cars are probably some of the most iconic symbols of wealth in the world today. The sleek look, the flawless design and the music of its engine all make the Ferrari completely unique. The Ferrari Story
Enzo Ferrari founded the company in 1929 as Scuderia Ferrari. Its main aim back then was to sponsor drivers and race cars built by Alfa Romeo. It began competing in Grand Prix races back in 1932 and has continuously participated since then. It has also been winning consistently as statistically, Ferrari is the most successful team in Formula One history. It has won the constructors’ championship 16 times and its drivers have garnered the most points 15 times.
It was in 1947 when the company started building its own road cars. The first one was the 125 S, which was powered by a 1.5-liter, V12 engine. Enzo Ferrari was on top of the situation and oversaw every car designed and created by the company. One of this was the F40, which is probably one of the most famous supercars ever created. It was the last model released by the company before the death of its founder.
The company, however, has continued to flourish despite the demise of its leader. In 2002, it released the F60, more popularly known as the Enzo. Only 400 units were ever made at a price of $650,000 each. Of these, only 399 were sold to its most loyal and recurring customers as the last one was donated to Vatican for charity.
In Formula One, Ferrari has been a constant contender for both the constructors’ and drivers’ plum through the years. The names of Michael Schumacher, Jody Scheckter, Niki Lauda, Kimi Raikkonen, Juan Manuel Fangio, Phil Hill, John Surtees, Mike Hawthorn and Alberto Ascari will forever be etched on the annals of Ferrari Formula One legends. Abu Dhabi Ferrari World
Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi was first conceptualized back in 2005 when the company signed an agreement with Aldar Properties for the company to lend its name to the biggest indoor amusement park in the world. Construction was expected to take three years with completion date targeted in 2008. However, the financial crisis and other unforeseen delays meant that construction did not start until 2008. It was completed in a couple of years with the park finally opening in November 4, 2010.
Though the Abu Dhabi government owns the park, Ferrari was heavily involved in each and every step and aspect of Ferrari World. The park is spread over an area measuring 80,000 square meters. The company felt that Abu Dhabi was the ideal location because of it lies at the crossroads of three continents, namely Asia, Europe and Africa. This means that fans and visitors can access the park within a six-hour flight path.
The park has an iconic roof that looks just like the side profile of a Ferrari GT. The roof measures 200,000 square meters in surface area and 2,200 meters in perimeter length. It stands 50 meters above the ground. A giant logo of the Italian car maker is painted on the roof. The logo measures 65 meters by 48.5 meters, making it the largest Ferrari logo ever made.

Ferrari World Rides
Some of the rides offered in this amusement park are the following:
- Carousel – this is the company’s version of the traditional carousel, though instead of making use of horses, the ride features prototype Ferrari cars.
- Fiorano GT Challenge – this ride was designed by Maurer Sohne. It is a dual-launched roller coaster that guarantees an exciting ride.
- Formula Rossa – this is the fastest roller coaster in the world. It was created by the roller coaster design firm from Switzerland called Intamin. This ride has been measured to go as fast as 240 kilometers per hour.
- G-Force – this spaceshot tower has the ability to launch riders over 62 meters up and out of the building.
- Junior Training Camp – this is a soft play area where kids are allowed to paddle their own miniature versions of the car, as well as play with a foam model of a Formula One Ferrari.
- V12 – this is a flume ride that will take you through the heart of the engine of a Ferrari 599.

- Bell’Italia – recreates famous sights and venues in Italy. You can do this in style by driving a Ferrari 250 across the exhibition hall.

- Junior GT – this is also a driving school for children, but this time, the focus is on Ferrari road cars. They are allowed to try on a child-sized F40 GT Spider while driving through several streets.
- Made in Maranello – tour the Maranello factory in a virtual manner.
- Paddock – recreate the set-up of the team during a Formula One race.
- The Pit Wall – call the shots to a virtual driver in this interactive theater.
