Flying car concept from Volkswagen

No matter how much we advance in technology, lengthening lifespans, creating artificial organs, and plastering touchscreens of all sizes on absolutely everything, it won’t feel quite like the “future” until we can fly to work. That most basic element in depictions of the future, the flying car, has been absent from reality, somehow leaving us unconvinced of how far we’ve come. From Volkswagen, and a young gaming design student from Chengdu city, we get a flying car concept that fits not only our own desires for futurism, but also the closest idea yet to something that will effectively introduce flight into our daily routines.

The car basically has a spherical shape with space for two people inside. It has no wheel and floats a few inches above the ground. The image of the car floating in the middle of the street, when other autos are running on the road, is absolutely amazing. Circular glass discs have been fitted on the two ends of the car and an elongated glass panel has been fixed at the front. The glass and metal bubble looks utterly stupendous. The Volkswagen Hover Car is a pod-like zero-emissions vehicle that uses electromagnetic road networks to float above the road. The small Volkswagen has two seats and a joystick and, to demonstrate how the car would work, a Chinese couple appears to put the flying car to the test around the bustling streets of Chengdu. The two seem reluctant to climb aboard at first, but once they lift-off, they seem to enjoy all the attention the pod car gets.

#12 Scotch

You wear tweed, ugly Christmas sweaters and have once dishevelled a cooked Thanksgiving turkey with nothing but your bare hands and of course, a glass of aged scotch. You are . . distinguished. Via: likes.com

#11 Gin

Gin & tonic drinkers are blessed with being realistic about life so there’s a consistent amount of comfort and security within their lives. You require sophistication around your friends and family and though you aren’t exactly eager, you’re not shy to show that a person can drink gin responsibly at your age. Via: likes.com

#10 Domestic Light Beer

As it’s “a simple man’s drink”, you’re a youthful and impulsive homosapien that’s more likely to binge on pizza for two weeks than take a trip to a Whole Foods store. You focus on what’s comfortable and at times, that can pilot an incredible pursuit of happiness. Via: likes.com

#9 Margarita

You may or may not have an obsession with drinking but that’s not your main attribute. When it comes to your overall makeup, you just want to travel, party and sleep, even if that involves singing Top 40 hits at the top of your lungs and in the middle of a public swimming pool. In five words: you’re a lot of fun! Via: likes.com

#8 Rum

Out of all of your friends, you’re the experimental one. New experiences and challenges don’t phase you, in fact they make you even more eccentric and respectable in the art and music community as you trade Bacardi for Myers’ and Gosling’s. Via: likes.com

#7 Appletini

You’re not quite Irish but you’re a health nut who can do crunches while reading People’s Magazine and listening to a Spotify playlist full of songs only by Beyonce. Fashion is a degree to you and your favorite color also just happens to be “fitted”. Via: likes.com

#6 Jager Shot

If your whole life came down to a basketball game, you’d convince your team to go shirtless just to have an advantage (“you can’t tug at me bro!”). There’s a solid chance you’re a gym addict who owns every scent by Axe and has their “Religion” on Facebook set to “Football”. Via: likes.com

#5 Domestic Full-Flavour Beer

True lagers get your heart racing and it’s mostly because you’re a grounded and practical member of society. Authority doesn’t appeal to you but you don’t give into it either as your semi-pickup truck is the only explanation you need for that. Via: likes.com

#4 Bourbon

Do you miss Movember? Sure your do; your moustache never felt more authority in its existence and paired with a glass of bourbon, the masculinity beaming off of you would be enough to tame starving wolves and bulls who have been grabbed by the horns. Via: likes.com

#3 Vodka

Like most Eastern European leaders of the past, you enjoy being in charge and your opinionated and independent personality constantly maintains your fashion sense that always moves forward. You’re also a true vodka connoisseur, who replaces soda variations for a tribute that goes easy in on the rocks. Via: likes.com

#2 Imports

Along with being outgoing and extroverted, you’re an intellectual human being who’s open-minded, isn’t afraid to copy stunts from “Skyfall” and consistently watches “The Office” even though it died once Steve Carrell left the show. Imports are your preferred drink, and you’re proud to raise a glass to that. Via: likes.com

#1 Tequila

On an everyday basis, your ride is anyone else’s and you’re not known to have a care in the world. Sunrises and margarita’s are for the concerned, not the outgoing and talkative who consider shots of Patron at lunchtime to be a complimentary add-on. Via: likes.com
