#15 X-43


The NASA X-43 is an unmanned aircraft that has a rocket on the back. This lets it go as fast as Mach 9.8. Almost 10 times the speed of sound. Now that’s fast!

#14 X-15


The X-15 of Mach 6.7. That’s almost 7 times the speed of sound! It’s the fastest manned craft to ever be built.





#13 SR-71 Blackbird


The Blackbird is a long range reconnaissance aircraft made in 1964 with a speed of over Mach 3. Instead of trying to shoot down missiles, it would simply outrun them!
