Here’s something pretty damn sweet for all of you who love adventure and fun on all terrains. The GIBBS Quadski is probably the world’s first high speed amphibious ATV, being able to reach a top speed of 45 mph on both land water, thanks to a pretty massive engine and transmission taken from a BMW motorcycle which could produce 175 horsepower.
It measures 10.5 feet in length, 4.3 feet in height, 5.2 feed in width and it has a 5.8 feet wheelbase. The four cylinder engine is water cooled and features an electronic fuel injection, a double overhead camshaft and dry sump lubrication, which is some techie stuff I don’t understand but I guess it’s something really good.
When you’ll enter water with the GIBBS Quadski you’ll just have to press a button and in just 5 seconds the wheels will retract. The same thing happens when you wanna get back on land, one button, 5 seconds and boom, you’re back on all four wheels. This amphibious ATV comes with a 15 gallon fuel tank and will be able to carry just one person.
The price ? “Just” $40,000 but.. I hope we’ll be able to rent these one day.
